Regenerative Food Systems Alliance

Inspiring sustainable change in school food systems

About

The Regenerative Food Systems Alliance is a network and advisory platform for national Communities of Policy and Practice committed to generating, sharing, and synthesising evidence and best practices on food systems and school meals programmes.

What we do

Provide technical assistance to establish national Communities of Policy and Practice

Offer a platform for cross-learning, capacity building, and knowledge dissemination

Support research and programme work through Working Groups

Communities of
Policy and Practice

The CoPPs are nationally led networks of practitioners, civil society members, government actors, farmers, educators, and community stakeholders working together to advance regenerative school food systems.

Working Groups

Working Groups map evidence within specific research areas, engage with policy issues and provide support to national CoPPs to strengthen country-level action and evidence generation.

What are regenerative school food systems?

Regenerative school food systems integrate principles of ecological restoration, nutrition, and food sovereignty by linking school meals to food that is grown in ways that enhance soil health, biodiversity, and farmer livelihoods. The approach goes beyond sustainability by actively rebuilding natural systems and democratising food systems engagement.

Emerging evidence enables mutual learning across regions and informs the global agenda. Together, we can:

Collaborate

Provide a platform to share latest programmatic and research developments and initiatives.

Generate evidence

Deepen the understanding of regenerative food systems through context-specific research.

Support policymaking

Elevate evidence into policy conversations through CoPPs.
